Interestingly this reminds me of the children's book Frank and Ernest. A bear and an elephant who offer their services in taking care of another person's business so that person can go on vacation or whatever.
The only one I saw was where they were going to run a diner (and they were in an office having the interview). In the office they wore clothes of course.
It was a book to teach people about Dinerese, the language of diners.
But for some reason while running the diner they didn't wear any clothes at all. Just an apron. In front of their human customers of all ages.

In another book called Berlioz the Bear, you see a band of bears (they play instruments) get stuck on the way to their next gig and they all change their clothes right in front of each other. And you see the illustration showing them in various stages of undress
