Meet Me By The Mistletoe - Candycane
Character: Stacy commissioned by
Color theme: Candycane
For this month's YCH series, I decided to try something new by letting commissioners choose their color scheme from a menu of preset color pallets that matched the theme of the drawing. Even though the lineart and costume is the same for all, the colors used in various elements of the piece would make each one unique. It was a lot of fun coming up with names for the color pallets and seeing how each one applied itself to the costume and how it looked on the character, so I'll likely be doing them this way from now on. :)
These YCH's are also a great way to let you guys get art from me at a discounted price (often less than half the price I'd charge for something similar being made-to-order). The lineart is pre-sketched so there is significantly less time spent on finding a pose, choosing a composition, working on anatomy etc. Each one is still hand-drawn and there will always be tiny variations from one piece to another, intentional or otherwise. I'm really liking this arrangement and I hope you guys are enjoying them too!
