Tires in the Rain
There's never a good time changing a tire on the side of the road. Add rain and it just gets that much worse.

Driving home from work one night, around 0130, and I see a car on the side of the road on the other side of the highway. The outside temp was 14 degrees F in North Carolina.
No way in Hell am I leaving anyone out in that kind of cold.
I turn around at the next exit, come back, and it's a couple with a flat tire. I set out my safety lights, put on my cold weather gear, and get their tire changed. It turns out he was a recent immigrant, and had never been in cold all his life. She was his sister, and had been here a few years, but still had not been in cold this bad.
Got them back on the road and into their nice, warm car.

Bah, I see too many people on the side of our roads (UK) with flat tyres. No one knows how to change them or no longer have spare tyres /too/ change here anymore. There's more but it turns into a rant after this. XD He should be proud he's even able to do this!
It was actually a Fanbelt, but that would not have made as good a drawing. and of course, it has to be the Inside belt, not the outside, so it took a little longer. Thankfully I was able to drive as far as a parts store, and do the repair in their parking lot. used the spare belt, and bought a replacement spare. ALWAYS have extra fan belts. you never know when you will need them.
I do not beleive any car design should be approved until the &*^$@! Engineers change a tire or fix a "simple" problem at O-dark 30 in January or during a storm at the same hour... I bring a 2 ton jack, fix-a-flat, an air compressor, a bag of tools, AND a real spare tire, a copy of one of the actual road wheels bought off a junk yard! </endRant>
