I just randomly stumbled across this pic, and it caught me so off guard that I couldn't help but scream out of sheer excitement. I am a big fan of the movie, so I might be heavily biased, but I think the background is spot on, but also the lynx's expression is that same mix of gratefulness for being alive and despair from being stranded on an inhospitable planet...

anyway, I think you made a fantastic job! Your style is superb! Kudos to you, talented artist!

A book and a movie. The audiobook is amazing so I highly recommend it if you get the chance to listen to it. The movie sticks pretty close to the book but there's a lot of stuff missing from it.

Literally just watched the movie again right before seeing this, so ironic xD Amazing piece nonetheless!

Y'know... I think an anthro spaceflight series may be an interesting idea. Set in a world alternate to Earth (so avoids the NASA and Soviet programs specifically) following the first steps into space of a multi-species anthro society, along with tackling challenges unique to such species like... shedding inside a spacecraft or spacesuit (for example).
And there could be a conflict between certain species, perhaps furs vs. scales, on who can develop the technology faster, and become a space race of their own.

It would take quite a bit of effort to realize such a project, but I think it could be worthwhile. What do you think? ^_^
