A collaboration with the awesome nomax! A fun personal project we took on together as an experiment. We are planning on offering these as a commission type in the future so keep an eye out for those! :)

Yep ... she is unusual. But she's out there. And here's her suit to prove it --> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23901648/
That's actually pretty neat! The sketch was done by Caraid so you're spot on there. We went back and forth for the rest but i guess given Caraid's usually smoother colouring style it's no surprise that the somewhat rougher feeling of my approach stands out against it. Seems like it worked well to blend styles together! :)
I completely agree! Your styles are very compatible. :)
Out of curiosity, how did you decide when to pass the artwork on to each other? Was it at designated intervals (i.e. you finished halfway, Cara took it up until 3/4, then passed it back to you, if that makes sense) or just whenever you felt like it? I work with traditional media so collabs are a strange and mystical thing, unless someone passes me lineart and I colour it. :P

We simply passed the files back and forth between us after making some progress on it. All in all there were 10 passes. Slight correction on Nomax' post there - I have done collaborations like this before and they are my favorite way of doing it as opposed to doing a "half" and the other person doing the "other half". this is much more dynamic, you learn from each other :3.
We were looking for a topic that interests us both, and we decided that a prehistoric species would be right up both of our alleys. I had a mammoth sketch and a gorgonopsid sketch, Nomax offered up an andrewsarchus. Saber tooth cats are obviously great but also a very common choice, we felt like exploring some more uncommon anthros :).
Oh, this is wonderful! The mood and the texture are brilliant, and those little birds on his shoulder are a great detail. Makes him look like a force of nature, in a way: relentlessly moving towards his goal at his own pace, paying no heed to the weather or the terrain.
Awesome work, by both of you.
