You made them all cute and it gets funny when you find any of them randomly while wandering around. Just watch your surroundings as it's never fun bursting into flames on finding one.

Whenever I find one under a rock I like to drop the rock back onto it's head. Not sure why but I find it amusing... :P

they programmed it that way and it can be a good time sink to see how they are affected by anything.

I miss Navi, as the storyline to Ocarina of Time never seemed fixed because of it.
Majora's Mask also happened in part because Link sought out Navi, only to be ambushed in a forest he tracked Navi too.
I always wondered if Link ever managed to meet up with her considering he was so close to doing so originally.
The thing is, after Majora's Mask Link attempting to pick up where he left off to find Navi, but sadly could not find new traces of her, as her trail went cold and he was so far away do to all the time he spent in the Other World.
Link decides to stop focusing on Navi until he acquires new leads, which is why he took up residence in a province near Hyrule by the Kokori Forest until someday he could track down Navi again. Rather than having the quiet life until his adventure to find his friends begins a-new, he instead is brought into the events of Twlight Princess.
I still really wish Link finds Navi, but it seems hopelessly impossible now.

Hate to break it to you but I think you messed up several events there. First off twilight princess takes place 500 years after majora's mask so it's a different link. There's 3 timelines and the link you can say from ocarina of time shows up as a skeleton in training the next link when you look for those scrolls.
