Hell, I'd be surprised if some people at Capcom even remember these characters are actually from something anymore. To be fair though, really the only muscular women in Darkstalkers were Hsien-Ko and Felicia, the others have kinda always been more about looking like they can't do much but then turning out to be terrifyingly powerful, but that sure doesn't excuse the fact that Capcom keeps pretending those two never had muscles.
Felicia easily gets the worst of it--Hsien-Ko still gets drawn with toned arms now and then and they otherwise typically get her design right, but it seems as though no official artists can draw Felicia correctly anymore, constantly giving her blue eyes or small boobs or no muscle whatsoever, and MvC3 used such a terribly incorrect model for her it's not even funny. And that's before getting into her awful English voice as of that game, how badly some of their writers have forgotten her story, personality and occupation, and the way they seem to keep making her dumber with every appearance...

Oh don't get me started on that "Look at how Kawaii I am guys!" voice from MVC3. Like the cuteness was just hamfisted in to the point it was annoying and cringy at times. Like her line to Ammarteratsu. Just.....ugh. Yeah her personality was WAY too friendly and cute in recent games. In Night warriors while she was cute, she also had some sass to balance it out and would actually talk some smack in her win quotes. I loved that. In recent games though, she comes off as such A pushover. Like makes you wonder why is she even in A fighting game at times.
And for her occupation and story. I think it'd be cool if they were to actually push the whole pop star thing and how she's from Las Vegas. Really show off that glamorous side of her. Like play up how she's actually A big celebrity in her universe.

What makes it all the more tragic is that Kana Asumi actually is a great successor to Kae Araki. GK Bowes completely took that one good thing about MvC3 Felicia and utterly ruined it. And then to add insult to injury, they had her voice all of Felicia's friends in the Please Help Me move too and she sounds just as awful, screechy, forced-cute and valley girl-esque as them as she does as Felicia. Also of note is that Japanese Felicia calls Wolverine "Wolverine" {or, more accurately, "Uruvariin!" XD}, while English Felicia calls him "Dog man". Hsien-Ko got a pretty bad English performance too, made even worse by her newound klutziness, abysmally low HP count and incredibly slow movement. It's like no one working on MvC3 understood who these two are, and I say this game because at least other games have given them better writing, especially Felicia, cause they have writers that understand pacifists don't need to be pushovers. She may be cute and friendly, but even in other crossover games, she's shown that she can talk some serious smack.
On the story note, I wish they'd focus more on that aspect of her too. In fact, I'd actually been thinking recently how much I'd love to see a new Darkstalkers game in which 20 years have passed since Darkstalkers 3 took place--if you want, I could note you about my ideas for what could be done with the characters, especially Felicia.
