Ryuu discovers for himself Skulg has a very strange way of reacting to affection - perhaps customs are different on her home planet? Or maybe she's just a very odd questionable slug-dog beast? My bet's on the latter, but either way she's decided a dragon nostril is the perfect spot to crawl into and snooze...

I don't normally do celshading traditionally but I thought I'd mix things up!

Aw man, nothing sends a pang to my heart quite like your traditional art. It's as beautiful as ever; you definitely haven't lost your touch! Sadly I don't really know what cellshading is, but from an uneducated perspective, it looks brilliant. Really very deep, a definite nod to your digital shading style. I can see the influence and it's inspired, how you use traditional or digital art to improve on the other! You pick up texture brilliantly with those markers. There's just little interesting bits here and there; I personally like the purple scales on that bottom right one; to me, it looks textured like scales. I gotta say well done for drawing a comic traditionally. Must have taken quite some time, not forgetting that risk of what happens if traditional art rears its head and a mistake happens! Pff, mistake, you, I don't think so. The colours are pitch-perfect as ever, as are the characterful expressions you give to Ryuu and his partner in this particular story!
I think the main thing that sticks out, though, is how you've borrowed technique from your digital work and applied it here. Your definition of scales using lighter coloured lines, the broad, bold shading (as opposed to blending colours together) makes this just as bold as any of your digital pieces, but still a real special piece of traditional mastery. ^^
I'm running out of critique, I think. I used to pride myself on helping you improve...I'm out of suggestions I think. You're too good. XP

As ObsidianVixen so kindly explained (I've not had time to reply lately I'm afraid) cel-shading is when the colours and shading are solid and "harsh" like you see in lots of cartoons, as opposed to the smooth, soft blended shading I usually opt for traditionally. Here's a nice article if you want to know more https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cel_shading
Thanks amigo! I certainly don't upload half as often as I used to with uploads often being months apart now but I at least try to make each piece worthwhile and somewhat entertaining. I've been slacking in the traditional department so it's my goal to focus more on that for now - I admit that looking at a giant void space on white paper knowing I have to fill it all by hand is quite daunting since once you start there's no going back but the end result is worth it. Usually.
I'm glad you mention that since I do often try to incorporate skills I learn from traditional into digital and vice versa, it doesn't always work but that's part of the learning process!
As for expressions, you know I love drawing them. Ryuu especially lends himself well to them somehow, for such a supposedly regal and majestic dragon he sure can pull off some goofy and over the top faces!

He's just a smooth-talking dragon with a whole lot of alluring sass! It's genuine most the time though his 'comforting' tone isn't always sincere...
For real though thanks! I try to make him and his speech as charming and diva-like as possible, I think it defines him really haha. Big lovable passionate noodle <3

So...When is Skulg going to start paying rent? She's been in there long enough, big ol' dragon noses are premium properties! I bet even the strongest sneeze can't budge the snoozing derpbeast...
I'm so glad this digusting picture was able to come from our gross conversation, I DRAW THE WEIRDEST STUFF. This is what I'm gonna be remembered for...
Also also Skulg is adorable and super fun to draw!!

I KNOW RIGHT? Or when a stupid bug like a fly swoops in there (please tell me that happens to other people too...), I think Ryuu's diva freakout is justified. But whatever, he's just gonna have to accept that's Skulg's new abode for now!
How do I always end up drawing some of the weirdest/gross PG art...
