I had to stop by the county courthouse today, and I espied this hanging up in the second-floor concourse. Yes, it's Pablo Picasso's Guernica, done as a quilt.
A small plaque nearby offered details.
For an art project, a high school teacher took square sections of a photograph of Picasso's great work (there's 50 of them), and assigned one to each student to make a quilt section. Once all of them were done, they were stitched together.
Really a nice effort. Sadly, my cell phone couldn't get all of it in, unless I decided to fling myself over the railing and get the shot as I plummeted to the floor below. And that ain't happening.
