Everyone voted and commented to have their say, now here is the new logo which represents all American Furs! The original logo was put into scraps, so you can see the differences.
I just want to ease the comments of those who seem to like the old logo. The new logo was designed to give the group a REAL U.S.A look. The paws, the stars, the eagle head and the seal show our american pride. While the older logo (which I think was made in windows paint) did not stand out enough to point out this group.
So I say this again very lightheartedly; comment below but remember the old will not come back.

Still not as good as your current icon, the paw with stars and stripes in it will forever and always be my favorite.
However, despite that, it's a vast, VAST improvement from the original.
The silhouette now looks like a bald eagle, or, in the very least, an eagle, which is what it's supposed to be.
The paws 'might' be visible at 100x100 res? Certainly yet another improvement from the tiny paws that would just have been vague dots had you used it.
The text is bigger, but it might still be hard to read...
It's still not a seal. It's a crest. A seal is usually a simple initial, like H if your last name starts with H, in a fancy font, usually used to stamp into hot candle wax to seal a letter. Like they did in the old days.
It's why it was a Signet Ring, it was a signature thingy as much as it was a seal of family ties.
This is an official logo meant to identify a certain organization or group of people under one banner. That makes it either a crest or a banner. Doesn't look like a banner, so I'll cast my slip on crest. I'd change that text from SEAL to CREST. But that's just me.
In the end, I'm not even American, I don't get to vote. I'm just a permanent resident :p

Needs a yellow beak and a little brown or black near the bottom of the neck. Otherwise still looks like a pissed off seagull or pigeon to me. ^_^
Also shouldn't the red wavy squiggles be on the left with the blue wavy squiggles on the right? Make it red, white bird, and blue.

After posting your group logo on my profile for a while, and used it both on PC(1920x1080 resolution) and mobile phone (Galaxy S4), I can safely confirm that the details are TOO SMALL to properly see in icon form, unless you already know what it says, in which case it isn't necessary to be able to read it.
I liked your old icon better cause even in
form, you could still see what it was about: An American flag, shaped like a paw. It was simple yet elegant and worked well.

After seeing it in use for quite a while, I retract my agreement. I don't like it, and I'd rather see the old icon return to use.
