If I were more dedicated, I would have used a larger plaque and maybe made a little metal engraved title underneath to make them real taxidermy style heads....but really, I just wanted some way to get heads out of the way so I could use the shelf space for other things.
That is both wonderful and disturbing at the same time.
Wonderful as a way to store/display fursuit heads, disturbing in the 'Ahhh, by friend has been stuffed and mounted like some hunting trophy!' vibe.
You just HAD to post this the week of Halloween, when everything starts to take on a creepy overtone.

lol It may sound odd, but we hang onto the clear plastic bags that fur suppliers like Distinctive Fabrics ships their fur in and we slip that bag over the heads to keep the dust off. I'm sure there are clothing bags similar to this, like if you seal up the tops of clear "dry clean" bags and cut off the excess on the bottom, you'd be able to see the heads but they stay dust free. Just a thought :)
I tried to have my dad make something similar to this for our heads out of stainless steel, but he ended up switching jobs. I'm not sure if that wire could support MY heads, they weigh a lot due to their size. We have a lot of heads, but I'd be curious of the price of one.
