Ooo I like the idea of doing the shadows and than adding the color overtop on another layer.

the last part is just like: SHABBAM! This is awesome. thank you! I do need to try shading before colour some time.. gets a nice effect....its the last step that im like...yea thats not gonna happen xD

What filter do you use when you overlay? Multiply? And is it the color that goes on top or the shading?

I should try that sometime then because I've been working on something for way to long where I'm doing the shading and color on the same layer. Art is all about taking best advantage of your resources.

How do you go about the highlights? Do you just have another overlay layer with some whites? This is where I always get stuck >__<

well you can use another layer for it to put the highlights ^^ but i usually combine my layers in step 4 so i can easily mix my colors & paint directly into it.

I don't know if someone say it before me, but, the third step is very good to sell, I mean, do "sketchy" drawing with a smaller price. I think it will work...

Anyway, very good tut' I have to admit, and the drawing (I LOVE your drawings) is awesome. :)

the reason that i don't take those kind of commission because I try to learn/experiment on every artworks i make, by giving me the freedom to finish them, it gives me a lot more things to learn to improve my artwork ^_^

What sorts of brushes do you use for the details? I still haven't figured out a way to get fur to look like that in my drawings without manipulating texture photographs.
