The first coati in fandom! Sniffing about since 1995 when everybody thought I made up the species.

Austin Dern is a nonanthro coati, about two-thirds of a meter nose to tail, with the tail just about that long again. That is, physically he is basically the standard coati as might be found in the southwestern United States or Central America. His fur is primarily reddish-brown, with white spots around the eyes and on the nose, and a light underside. His tail has something around a dozen bands of lighter and darker fur. The only point substantially different to real-world coatis is that his claws are rather sharp and silver-colored. He does wear a blue shoulder patch showing off a yellow, Krazy Kat-esque crescent moon.
