fkr a long time, my definition of art was the product of one's costant changes, skill and external influences gained over time, either as improvement or not.

i was wrong

I do love paintings, and back at school i was often ignoring lessons to pick up the art hystory book and take a look at the photos, but despite all those i saw in my life, there is one specifically that always come in mind, which is Salvador Dali's The elephant, drawn back in 1948.

It's not a particularly rich and detailed one, unlike other amazing works from the same artist, and everytime i see people talking about it, they mention everything but why it remained impressed in my mind so much:

I don't really care about the elephants carrying obelisks or having spider-like limbs, but i'm more interested in their condition and position: they are consumed, hunched down and tired, almost as they could collapse at any time, while they are positioned at the very extremities, almost as a frame for the desolate landscape imside them.

For me, this painting has always been like a window for an apparently barren wasteland, hiding the unknown beyond the horizon, all while the orange sky of a sunset signals the arrival of night, that i always imagined revealing a destination, for some reason...

I may change mind every niw and then and enjoy more the atmosphere transmitted by another painting from a different artists, Such as Klimt or Kamdinsky, but that painting will always be impressed in my mind no matter what.

please i don't want your pity, i feel depressed because of this but i don't want people to tell me reassuring things, it doesn't make me feel better, only more miserable.

A couple months a go i got 1800€ for working on a videogame, after some time of keeping them, i had decided to commission an artist, i looked around, found someone with an artstyle i liked and then asked a friend if he wanted to join.
since the artist was asking for 130€, we decided to split on 80 from me and 50 from my friend, we payed and the artist trough Boosty and they told us to wait for the initial sketches.
Then the first problems arrived: apparently it came out that my friend didn't payed just 50€, but when typing the number, he slipped an extra 0 in the end, paying 500 instead, he immediately went to talk with her for a refund, only for her to disappear shortly after, with their last message being "i'll send you the first draft later"
After 3 weeks, I eventually had to refund my friend, as boosty can't refund you and the idea and artist's choice were mine.
And that's the end.
Don't pay for art before you see the first sketches.

hello, i got a small itch in the latest days:

i wanna try to draw a character in a
dynamic pose, also i started to get a liking to angsty characters in the latest days...

i'm not interested in fanarts, if i draw something, i wanna see someone personally judging my work and how i potrayed their character, this is is why i prefer cosplay potraits.

also, i usually tend to make generic or calm poses, but not this time, i wanna try something more difficult.

So, here is what you have ti do: write a coent with the following things

1:your character
2:description or example of the pose you want (please something dynamic)
3: (optionally) another character you want them them to cosplay as, you can also opt to specifically say that you don't want your character to cosplay, but that would ruin the fun to me.

i will assign a number and (probably) randomly select one in a couple of days.

my preferred characters from other media this time is someone with a very TINY problem of anger management, if you don't know who to name, here are 4 examples down here:

i readed around a couple of comments and posts about some people seeing the words "herm"/"hermaphrodite" and "Futa"/"futanari" as transphobic slurs, which is something i wanna argue about as i believe itsn't the case for neither of them.

If people find the first case insulting... why? it's an adjective used in biology to indicate an organism that possess both male and female attributes, doesn't sounds that much insulting to me...

the second case is far more interesting to me, but still something i cannot consider a slur as it is more meme in the true sense, something made part of our culture adopted via imitation and repetition: we got it from pornographic manga/anime and then used in similar context, using it to indicate an individual with a female body but also male attributes.

what i'm trying to say is that both terms are to be considered just indicative, thus neither offensive nor complimentary by themselves and so a context is required to make them a form of insult, but even then, literally every word can be used to offend someone, both by misusing it in the wrong situation and with the right context.

so... that's my way of thinking, if you do believe i'm wrong, feel free to tell me

...How Richard Williams felt when seeing the attempt at restoring his forever unfinished movie, The thief and the cobbler, back in 2013

It's a depressing story the one of that piece of cinema:
Decades of work and money spent for making this gorgeous movie, his passion project, only to be kicked away from his own creation and standing powerless as it get first ruined in an attempt to finish it as soon as possible, then given to disney, the studio who first stole from his movie, who proceed to handle it to a perverse butcherer, reducing it to such an unwatchable disaster that they end up giving free copies in boxes of cereals.

Guy has endured multiple losses tied to that film, also by the hand of his own family, as well as the studios he worked so hard to make what is by many considered the best movie ever made that mixed both live action and animation, as well as broken promises, like when it was promised to have his movie completed... shortly before the mouse decided that it was time to throw away hand drawn animation.

Of course, you cannot just blame a single person or company as responsale for such things happening, as easy as it would be, considering that Weinstein is responsable of the most know miramax version...

For me, it's surely makes Disney's aladdin and Who framed roger rabbit into a bittersweet watch now...

On a discord server, a few of months ago, i decided to start with a writing project where a chapter of a specific story would've been posted, accompained by 3 sketches by me.
This story is set in a post-apocalyptic world, and revolts around two character: a male hare and a female reptile struggling for surviving.
Although i feel like the whole thing is more of an amauterish project, now that the first set of chapters is finished, i was considering to post it on fa as well, would you be interested to read it?

so... i've been playing a dishwasher: vampire smile recently, and i thought it would be fun to make something related to it

i'm not sure if i'm gonna make an halfbody or fullbody, in any case, i'm gonna do it black 'n white only, maybe with some blood red.
