* Currently inking a graphic novel for an independent creator, and designing and producing promo posters for the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie.

* Commissions are currently closed, but if you're interested you can ask to be put on my list for when I reopen this summer. I have a couple of people I need to finish pieces for before I reopen.

* Due to issues with Canada Post locking out their workers, I had to close my Etsy shop and am unable to reopen it until service is reliably resumed. This means my income and my ability to help my family is affected, and support on Patreon is more important than ever before. Please consider becoming a patron -- you can pledge any amount you'd like, and are only charged once per month for access to my work. Funding goals on Patreon will give me the ability to upgrade and invest in equipment for my art, and be able to do more (like go digital!), and would also help me to help my immediate family (who are struggling right now).

I've been busy with Patreon, introducing live sketch sessions on Periscope. What have I been up to?

I had to close my commissions back in the fall as I started to work in film and television. I've created props for DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, designed and illustrated a poster for Fox for the Deadpool movie, and I am currently in the middle of two illustrations to be used in marketing for X-Men: Apocalypse. I also wrapped sketch card illustrations for Upper Deck's Captain America: Civil War trading card set last month.

Currently, commissions will only be available at my spring 2016 shows: ECCC, Calgary Expo, and Northern FanCon. If you're coming to any of these, you can arrange a sketch before the show if its easier for you. I had planned to open pre-show for pickup, but if I don't have the time beforehand it'll let you jump the line on my very limited commission list at each one.

When I'm not working on film and advertising art, I'm working on the last of my current commission list as well as personal art for Patreon. My patrons not only get to see my official art in progress, and other behind the scenes content, they also get to request art from me, and watch the yummy, sexy pinup girl sketches I do on my free time ;) Some of them are getting naughty!

My patrons are charged once per month for all the content I give them, and if I have enough support to hit my higher goals I'll be able to produce physical exclusive rewards for patrons (like prints, or metal trading cards with some of my sexy ladies on them!). The last couple of months have been crazy. We've broken heat records where I live, which has been not very comfortable for me (high heat and humidity = literal liquid puddle of Mecha).

I'm also settling down.... no more travel, no more shows/signings. I put off dental surgery for over a year because I couldn't afford it (everything I make goes into my bills), and I'm sleeping on a hard surface because my bed broke (literally, the bottom fell out of the boxspring). I need to take care of that and other things as soon as I can.

Work has also been very slow. While I've been working on licensed projects (I just finished cards for Firefly: The Verse last month), they don't pay for several months. I've been open for commissions, but its been a very slow season.

Being aware of that, I've been focusing on my Patreon. It only costs supporters $1 a month (or they can choose higher levels like $5, $10 etc with additional rewards). My patrons are all awesome people, they make it a lot of fun for me. But to be honest, I am finding it hard to build support and I'm not sure what I'm missing or not doing right. I'd love to hear if anyone has feedback or suggestions for me :)

Well actually spring is almost over... at least here.

Its starting to heat up where I'm at, now that I'm home after almost 2 months of being on and off the road. I've only ever done one multi-city tour before this one, and it was only about 4 weeks start to finish. I'd like to do more in the future, but I haven't booked any summer/fall shows right now. I actually need to look for work, because the projects I've been working on outside of sketch commissions, STILL HAVEN'T PAID. Yeah, this happens, but never this badly. I'm still waiting for payment for work I finished at the end of January. That's not good.

What does this mean? Well, as I finish up the last of my commission list right now, I am open for new commissions. Wide open (take that as you will haha). And I'm focusing on my Patreon, to try to get some new original content finished (something that's been sorely lacking while I was away). I'm also working on setting up livestreaming so that patrons can watch me work ;)

I will still be drawing my usual comic book art as well as my own original character illustrations. DevArt has also been where I've found myself running comic, pinup, and sketch card related groups in my spare time.

Anyways, I opened this account here in 2011. Since then I've become an illustrator on officially licensed trading card sets for Upper Deck and other companies. I've grown from using Copic markers on sketch cards to doing full marker illustrations and sketches of comic book characters. I also worked for Saturday Night Live's Taran Killam, where I inked several issues of his comic book series The Illegitimates. And I've been booking more convention appearances and signings.

During all of this, I moved away from sexy pinup illustration to focus on mainstream comic book characters. But I feel like I've been missing something.

So for the new year, I want to get back into pinup art :) Let's get sexy again!
