Posted 11 years agoI was talking to a Facebook friend on some other issues that was troubling me, but ended up in talking about a new idea that seemed awesome in terms of co-op and team play.
The new working idea is called Power Link Techniques.
How it works:
When you are on a mission with another person or on a team of 3 (or more), you will be able to initiate a joint attack. You will have a choice of 3 types: Defense, Offense, and Mix.
However, their must be a few conditions to be met for it to work.
1) either have 2, 3+ members in your team
2) must have enough energy points for either attack to work
3) must be within 3 levels above or below of any person who has the Power Link available.
Now as you can imagine, there are many Elemental Power Sets and the combinations between a double or triple can be quite a lot.
You can also upgrade each power in each aspect, to make it stronger. If you have 2 or 3 members on your team who have different upgraded levels, whether it's lowest or highest or maximum, the attack will have its own damage, defense or such abilities.
So along with your Primary Element Power and maybe Secondary (maybe as a micro transaction), this Power Link Set will be your third set. This also works with any weapon, shield, sword or such (that is upgradable).
In terms of actually activating it, a current idea is that when you're in the vicinity of another player who has the same ability as you, a signal of some sort will notify you to press a key on your keyboard (or controller), and when all 2 or 3 keys are pressed from you and others, the attack will occur.

1) I have another NEW idea to implement into my game, but not sure how to really finalize it. Not that I'm rushing it. There are two ways I am considering taking this idea::
Animal Armor Series -- players will be able to find on a quest or such, to find the Fauna Base Armor. Once the Base Armor has been found, players will have the opportunity to search for Sacred Animal Totems (or medallions, medals, or such) that contain a portion of the animals energy and abilities. After the Totem has been found, you would have to find shamans, or energy workers across the Dragon Isles to identify the energy. Finally, take it to an engineer at a spiritual lab to turn it into a disc (chip, bracelet or whichever) to use with the Base Armor. This first transformation is called Fauna Evolution.
The current idea is to allow the Base Armor to store up to 3 animal discs.
And after a certain amount of experience with the Base Armor and reaching a certain level, you will be able to have access to Hybrid Evolution. Combining two of the three chips to create a hybrid form.
And even with further experience and attaining a level (and maybe some other requirements) you will be ble to have access to the Chimera Evolution where you will be able to fuse all 3 chips together.
Most animal totems will have their own element. That and you will be able to combine your own element with any animals element.
Another running idea is that you will receive a device to activate the armor via the chip, disc, bracelet or such.
OR
The second idea is that players will be able to find across the lands, Animal Totems in the shape of said animal. Once found, you can take it to a shaman who will then give you a magical device or object to initiate Fauna Evolution. And just like with the first idea of reaching a certain amount of experience and/or requirements, you will have access to the Mythical Totems, where you can have a more powerful form that of an ancient or mystical creature.
And taking that further after experience and/or fulfilling requirements, you can access the Spirit Cross Evolution.
Now here's the catch:
Since you'll have the armor or other method, this will cancel out your normal skill but retain your element.
Another thing is to whether to make this armor only for the Humanoid Class, or all classes except Animal Totem Class.
You will be able to experience what it can be like if you chose Animal Totem Class. But not completely.
One other thing I'm not sure of, is the design. Should I make it tech like? Or natural like? Or a mix of both?

Posted 13 years agoIn regards to music for the game; I am looking for musicians who are able to go outside their comfort zone and explore new genres of music types. Or ones that are varied in their work.
But i'm not officially looking for musicians, but rather i have a concern i'm not so sure about:
In the game's release, and as you know will be quite small. Would it be wise to use game music from other video games but giving them 100% ownership. It wouldn't be forever, but only as temporarily "promo" music.
Chances are i would probably be looking at infringement. But the music i listen to really helps the settings and mood i am capturing for each environment.
What are your thoughts?

Posted 13 years agoSo as i was in the shower today and realized something that probably no one has achieved on FA...to my knowledge u_u.
I have been working on my MMORPG game for nearly a year! Wow, i thought that was pretty cool. Although 90% of it was mainly concept art ^-^;
Many of you probably don't think this will happen, but i plan to make it my life's work. And it will be the BEST awesome sauce ever!!

It won't be huge...really really small as i'm not funded with money or other junk like that. My "friends" (except for a few) on facebook or pretty much useless fodder, so...this is all i have basically :\. I'm not looking to be popular, it's the goal of my game that i want to become known. Posted 13 years agoOk, so now i've got more of a world being built of my game and more features and characters added, what do you have to say about it now? Anything i should think about? What would you take away? Anything you'd like to know more about? What about personal characters that you can have?
Also i'd like to know about Map Packs. I've seen them on big type shoot-em games like Halo, or whatever. I was thinking about this...but then i feel like i'd be limiting some level designs. Explain to me what they are specifically?

Posted 13 years agoUPDATES:: if the power goes out by any chance, please just think of names for any enemies you might think of. I'll do the drawings. Unless you wish to do so and then I can do a second version of it. Just names. However if you want to draw some or write a description, that's fine. Even for a small release, I'm gonna need a butt load of enemies to work with and model for players to fight against :-/. I'm gonna need help you guys, I really want this game to launch one day. But I truly need your help. I apologize if I am asking too much and being a sappy doofus, but I'm not in the best of moods and I just need to be around some positive energy.
First Sub-Realm
Posted 13 years agoOk, so I more or less created a sub-realm but not sure what to call it, or of it should be added, or how to tie it in with the rest of the game. It isn't uploaded, but i will get to it soon.
I really need viewer input on this realm and need to know for sure with the information vie gathered from my watchers or random people, to make my final decision. I do know that if it isn't to be used on the release, that it could be one of those "new features coming soon!" promotion deals.
The realm is either going to be called:
Void Realm-- a place where many dark and neutral spirits are abound. I will get more information on this actual realm.
BlackHeart's Realm-- the darkest aspect of the Hero of the Aquarian Age. Once a part of him and tried to cover the world in a blanket of pure darkness, he has is now been removed successfully from the carnal self of the Hero and is locked up once again in his own world he has created (which has been removed as well) by his Higher Selves. He is severely weakened since the Void Trinity Battle, but still is a very powerful entity. He still is a part of the Hero and the Hero is still a part of him.
The actual world i have crated within myself and have visually represented is but a bare tree in the middle of a vast world of dense fog. However, for this game, I have placed a forest of trees (bare and full) around that tree.
Alternative:::
I started to rethink the world for BlackHeart wouldn't make sense in a spiritual sense as he is a black shadow in a dark world he (I) has created. How? Well he draws strength from the minuscule bits of negative energy and amplifies it for his own needs, making him stronger, but the chains of light keep him locked up for good.
Now here's where I started to rethink that world: (comic series canon) since the Void Trinity Battle, he has been severely weakened and locked up inside the Hero's body once more. After a few months have passed it was time chosen by the Hero to rid himself of this darkness once and for all. So, his guides and other higher evolved entities successfully removed BlackHeart from the carnal self of the Hero as well as his world, they all placed him in a world of light, being unable to draw strength from any negative source in the universe or such. This world is nothing put pure love and light, he remains at a weak state, but unable to cope with it. The landscape is the same as mentioned above, but this time the tree is full with leaves and is called the Tree of Hope with a beautiful forest surrounding it with small streams and abundant wildlife and a gorgeous meadow. To me this makes more sense, but where would i place BlackHeart? I want players to be able to fight BlackHeart at near full power or full power. I don't necessary believe in time travel and i don't want to use that idea.
I need help figuring this out. Can youz help me pwease?

I will be doing sketch concepts of locations and places. As crappy as they may be, i hope i will get the point across no matter how messy it is.
Also as official temples will go that are IN the safe zone. They will be considered Trials.
For now there will 5 or 8 main Trials to complete. They will be quite lengthy in comparison to normal missions. They will be based on elements. There will be enemies in there of course, even if they are in the safe zone, but these Trials will be able to help you increase your EXP Points and such.

OFFICIAL non-missioned places can be accessed at anytime provided you have a key(???) or something. These sort of places are located around the world. But having multiple players enter in at one time may be an issue in terms of programming. That is, if one player wanted to enter by him/herself.
If I can't do this, then I can't do concept art for the official temples and such.
Hmmm, come to think of it, I don't think this may be such a great idea.

OFFICIAL non-missioned places can be accessed at anytime provided you have a key(???) or something. These sort of places are located around the world. But having multiple players enter in at one time may be an issue in terms of programming. That is, if one player wanted to enter by him/herself.
If I can't do this, then I can't do concept art for the official temples and such.
Hmmm, come to think of it, I don't think this may be such a great idea.
What are you thoughts?

Ok, so I'm closing down on the list of the items, weapons and armors I have redesigned, so the next step will be a little on your part:
I need famous locations that have some sort of mystery or phenomenon behind them or a mystical place. Example: Area 51, Point Pleasant WV (Mothman), Virginia Beach VA (birthplace of Edgar Cayce).
Name some examples as these will be the locations where you can explore AND fought enemies.
There are 3 bases where I may include to be Safe Zones only and they are:
1) Atlantis
2) Sedona, AZ (research to find out the spiritual significance)
3) Somewhere in Ireland
These may be smaller Safe Zones like Dragon Isles. So now i need 3 other locations where I can have battle areas with safe zone.
ALSO!!!!
Since I'm winding down on my "redesign list", I may need the help of designing other things like scenery, backgrounds, buildings, towns, people, enemies, props, temples, caves, ancient cities. Some of the subject matter may require extensive research on the spiritual matters. I do have. Specific look I want to go for but I don't know how to describe it other than telling you to look at fantasy paintings and underwater art and new age art. Like Wyland Galleries, Christian Reise Lassen, Noelito, Circuelo (I think i misspelled his name but he is a known dragon/fantasy artist/painter). There are moods I want to capture but I feel a first rough sketch may need ti be provided before any further alterations can be made. Kind of like an "application" to see if you will have the abilities to work with me and the skill needed enough to let the viewers know what is being expressed and visualized. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. So if you would like to help me or know someone, I'd GREATLY appreciate it from the bottom of my Heart. And of course, the credit will most certainly go to you 95%.
NOTE::: this isn't a paid thing as I'm on a tight budget. Sorry to burst your tiny bubble if you think I'm cheap. I will defend myself of course, but that is your "conclusion" based on a less than 5 minute observation when you forget to add the 24+ years if my life. So I basically win in the end, so ha.
