Emergency Room Visit
Posted 7 years agoSo here is the story all about how I made chicken ala king so good it sent me to the hospital.

It was so good though you guys.
But seriously. So, I woke up in the morning in a seriously intense, screaming amount of pain so bad I couldn't move. I went straight to the ER, where they shot me up with some kind of opioid painkiller and then started trying to figure out what went wrong.
They did an ultrasound on my belly and found really big gallstones (this problem runs in my family). The rich delicious chicken ala king triggered my gallbladder to produce some extra juice and that's when it all hit the fan.
So they scheduled me for emergency surgery to remove it.
Fortunately, the swelling went down enough after 14 hours on morphine enough that I was no longer in a critical state and things could relax. During my 30 hours in the hospital, I wasn't allowed to move or eat, and most of that time I was drugged out of my mind.
They decided to send me home with some meds and painkillers, because they want to let the swelling settle so they can do the operation more safely, because it's a bit more dangerous to do in an emergency swollen gallbladder situation.
So in 2 weeks, I'll go in for an operation. :(
Please don't become such a good chef that your meals are so delicious, they kill. Learn from my example.
