Billionaire investors. If we think of them, it's with a mixture of awe and suspicion. Clearly, they possess a kind of genius - the proverbial Midas Touch. But are the skills they possess transferable? And would we really want to be them? Do they have anything to teach us besides making money?
In Richer, Wiser, Happier, award-winning journalist William Green has spent nearly twenty-five years interviewing these investing wizards and discovered that their talents expand well beyond the financial realm and into practical philosophy.
Green ushers us into the lives of more than forty of the world's super-investors, visiting them in their offices, vacation homes, and even their places of worship - all to share what they have to teach us. Green brings together the thinking of some of the best investors, from Warren Buffett to Howard Marks to John Templeton, and provides gems of insight that will enrich you not only financially but also professionally and personally.

- Reviewed in India on 10 September 2023Verified PurchaseIt's a good read. But the reality is that the book does not suffice for even 1% of the actual knowledge needed to be the like the investors mentioned in it. My point is many readers would be tempted to be an investor like this and end by loosing a big money. However the good part is that it's an initiation into becoming a good investor.

- Reviewed in India on 7 July 2021Verified PurchaseSo much used to get products delivered within a day or two, I was furious that Amazon took nearly a month’s time in delivering this book. And so, before I could lay my hands on it I had decided to return it the day it arrives. But… I’m so glad I didn’t. It’s one gem of a book on psychology of investing. Author has interviewed a number of highly successful investors and it’s such a nice result of all those interviews. How these investors built these fortunes, what were their guiding principles. Too good.
- Reviewed in India on 23 May 2021Verified PurchaseIt really makes you think about the habits, mindset and routines you have in place to succeed in your Investing career .. it will urge you to step back for a moment and think about how you think and how you act on daily basis .. it could make you see the bigger picture and the beauty of purpose that drives one in his profession .. It’s a fabulous read and I will reread it soon to ground myself in these thought processes .. highly recommend 👌🏼

5.0 out of 5 stars Should have been first!
Verified PurchaseOver the past year and a half I've read 13 books relating to finance; all written by or about some of the top financial investors and analysts of note. However if I could do it over again I would have read this book first. Green manages to distill down all the main tenants of all great investors in this one text. Not so much strategy as philosophy.... A very easy read let alone a valuable one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life lesson book that ties in financial wisdom, so good
Verified PurchaseThis was one of the best books on life I've read. It gave a very grounded, solid, masculine perspective for me. From the heart. And from the soul. All about investing, but intertwined with life lessons. The mindset of it. It's given me lessons that spiritual books haven't, because it's grounded in reality, in living a life, rather than being about floating into oneness. It actually speaks about The harmony of life, in such a unique way, with money stories, real life home hitting lessons.
Please read.
