Grammy winner Eve’s favorite recent reads
It’s impossible to see the cover of Eve’s new memoir—Who’s That Girl?—without instantly busting out the lyrics of her hit song of the same name. Eve is a true multihyphenate—Grammy winner, Emmy nominee, actress, artist…and now successful author. To celebrate her latest endeavor, we asked Eve to recommend a few of her favorite recent reads.
I’m a big fan of Joe Dispenza’s books, especially since they deal with literally the art of self-transformation. This one, for me, was important, especially since I’m big on energy centers within our bodies. —Eve
I have been trying to catch up on all of Zadie Smith’s books, but with writing my own and chasing a toddler around the house, that hasn’t been easy. That being said, I love White Teeth. The friendship, the dive into Islam, all of it. —Eve
I love Queenie, the book and the TV series, though the book is what started it all. The main character Queenie Jenkins is just so relatable, and as someone who grew up with so many Jamaican friends and then moved over to London, I feel like I know Queenie in so many ways. —Eve
I feel like The Alchemist is an oldie but goodie, at least for me. You can never read this one too many times and learn something new every single time that you reread it. Lots of quotables in this one. —Eve
