Play Live Photos in Photos on Mac
With some models of iPhone, you can shoot Live Photos, which capture a still image and a short video that shows the moments just before and after the image.

The Live Photo badge changes to indicate that the Live Photo is a Portrait mode photo or is set to Loop, Bounce, or Long Exposure. See Display titles, other metadata, and badges.
In the Photos app
on your Mac, double-click a Live Photo thumbnail to view it individually, then position the pointer over the Live Photo badge (
, or
if it’s a Live Photo in Portrait mode).
If you double-click a Live Photo that is set to Loop, Bounce, or Long Exposure, the Live Photo plays immediately.
For information about editing a Live Photo or converting it to a still image, see Change a Live Photo.
