Why in tiktok i can search for a random memory vaguely about a meme and it brings it up. Yet instagram search fails to find even the most basic things.

It seems like tiktok when indexing does:

1. Description text

2. Audios

3. Comments synthesis

4. Visual recognition of the video elements

Does Meta not care? Do the engineers not care? Hope we can get some inside scoop here! :)
