Brewed for the heart

Welcome to "Brewed for the Heart"

A cosy cafe game created for the Cozy Winter Jam 2025.

Due to personal circumstances, I didn’t have as much time as I’d hoped to work on this project, but I still wanted to upload something meaningful. I’ll continue polishing the game throughout the jam and perhaps for a week or so afterward before leaving it as it is.

Everything in the game—art and code—was created by me. It’s been a while since I last dabbled in pixel art (my focus shifted to 3D since college), but it was a lot of fun to revisit it!

The music consists of a couple of tracks from OWNI Chiptune, for which I own the rights to.

About the Game

Step into the shoes of Pierre, a barista on a mission to lift the spirits of his sad customers. The weather outside is miserable, and they’ve come in hoping for a warm drink and a bit of cheer. Your job is to help Pierre serve up the perfect cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea and turn those frowns upside down!

Gameplay:

• Customers arrive, and you press a button to serve them their drink.
• The goal is to make as many customers smile as possible,  by making sure you click the corresponding button to their order (Tea, Hot chocolate, Coffee).
• The game is currently ending at 100 smiles, but I plan to add an endgame scenario soon.

Planned Updates (If I have time)

Here’s what I’d love to add:

• Animations for NPCs and Pierre.
• Background sound effects of customers.
• Done: Randomised customer orders, requiring Pierre to match the correct drink. (Serving the wrong one will result in an unhappy customer, and no smile will be earned. - this was done already if you click wrong button wont get a smile :) customer will move on)

New 0.2 will include:

• Characters improvements for NPC and Player. 
• New background improvements and tweaks. 
• Animations and sound effects.
