This was great! I played the original version as well as after the bug fix, and I have to say you guys did super well. The level design was great - really good visual queues to guide players, solid use of valves to keep progression natural, and a solid jump scare when the ground gave out!
I also really appreciated the quality of the voice acting, as well as the overall aesthetic you went for.
Well done!
Thanks for playing and glad you liked it! We really appreciate the feedback!
I designed the level layout and order of progression so I’m happy to hear you liked that part and noticed the use of valves :)
I’ll pass the compliments on to the team, they really made it all come together!
nice work, especially that final boss fight, the art style is very unique too, but I think I would remove the bars
Thanks for playing our game and for the feedback! The HUD is admittedly not the prettiest. We will take your feedback into consideration.
I thought this game was really good! This is really scary!
Thanks for playing!
Very, very cool submission.
The visuals were fantastic. I also like the use of whatever weird warping effect you had going on. It gave a retro feel but wasn't as hard to see as pixelation would be.
The music was superb, set the mood well. Unique tracks for unique sections made it feel like a movie score.
The level design was cool. Looping back on itself was a nice touch.
Voice acting worked well. SFX was well made too; nothing felt like it was missing, in terms of sound.
Overall, possibly the best game this jam, definitely the best I've seen so far (and I've seen some fairly good games).
Wow! Thanks so much for the high praise! We all worked really hard on this project, so its really nice to hear you liked it so much. There were a lot of great games this jam. I'm thankful you count ours among them.
Awesome story and graphics! Loved the feel of the environment. Only issues I ran into is the movement on slopes felt a little janky and I wasn't able figure out how to defeat the monster in the cave, any advice?
Hey! Thanks for playing the game! To beat the monster in the cave, you have to shoot it with the rifle 8 times. Thanks for the feedback about the movement on slopes. I will look into that and try to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Fixed the issue! That was a movement bug introduced in the most recent build due to a previous bugfix. Thanks a ton for the help tracking it down
some good graphics, nice feel and movement to the gameplay, and definitely gives a good horror vibe :)
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed the experience!
Great job! The monster in the cave's movement was awesome hahah, caught me by surprise!
Thanks we are super glad you liked it :) it was a lot of fun putting it all together, and our team worked super hard on it!
Seems pretty cool and I really like the graphics (and I always love to see voice acting in jam games {see my game as proof}), and the audio and animation is good. That said, I admit I was stuck in the town with seemingly nowhere to go--I obtained a crowbar but it did nothing. Offer me guidance dear devs
Thanks! Use the crowbar to open wood planks to get inside the mine!
It was really fun to play, i had problems with the first monster but besides that everything was really really good. Loved the voice acting
Thanks for playing! I am glad you had fun with it.
An amazing game, I loved the pacing of the game, the voice acting was well done, the overall coding was great.
10/10 would fall 5 stories and survive with only a scratch again
Thanks so much for playing our game :) It was super fun watching you go through all the moments we set up.
