  • It's a wonderful idea! I picked only the kind option due to time constraints, I hope the different characters have different endings and you could actually get a bad one if you played it wrong or maybe were selfish. The game already has a lot to offer! It's simple and the art style and the music both support the style of it, the platforming was simple and didn't feel clunky. I would like to see some more options, maybe more villagers to talk to, some more homes, it's also just a little strange that the boy is responsible for the opinions of an entire group of people, or so it seems based from what the interaction was with them. It would also be interesting to see, for example, needing to go out on an adventure to find something to help persuade some of the villagers, as currently it's just the same pattern of talk to everyone, then talk to the bird man, then the boy and finally the bunny lady. All in all, well done! Keep making cool things!

Summarise your game!
Crown of Persuasion is a 2D platformer game where the player is a powerful crown that grants its wielder immense persuasiveness. The crown must choose between three leaders and decide who is worthy of its power, and who can help the village overcome its hardships.

There are two primary gameplays:
Selection gameplay: The player has to choose which leader to deal with the trial that the village has faced
Post-selection gameplay: WIth the leader you chose, you get to interact with the NPCs in the village to solve the event.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The crown is a mysterious artifact that had been used by ancient kings and queens.

It is a weapon because it provides the power of persuasion, which can be used to bring good or harm depending on the user’s intent, just like how a knife can be used for both cooking and stabbing.

Rather than interpreting “You are the weapon” in a physical way, this game emphasizes how non-physical things may also be used as a weapon towards others.

Love this cute little game. The art and story are cute though some of the choices in characters seemed like a straight forward choice.  The collision  felt sticky when you hit a  a boundary and made jumping a little difficult but angling just right I avoided the sticky trap.  Also, I seemed to get locked in the second trail choosing the merchant. None of the dialogue changed with different people I talked to and I couldn't progress and  had to start the game all over again. Great little game and would love to see expanded with more choices and options. I had a lot of fun

Super cute game! Loved the art and music!

Interesting theme interpretation - power and influence can also be used as a weapon of change. The art is super cute and I liked the music a lot!

I found a small bug - if you play the game on browser on Mac (I tested google chrome), the dialog box appears very small. This didn't happen when playing in the same browser on Windows, so looks like a Mac-only issue! Letting you know in case you may want to look into it after the judging period ends. Anyway, great job!

really lovely game!! i enjoyed it a lot. the premise has a great hook and i like the three events for the three characters to choose from. each of them has potential but i especially like the ethical dilemma it poses on how each of them try to solve the problem, no matter how good their intentions are. the writing, art, and music is wonderful. the simplistic and cute art style has quite a charm. the music is well-composed and the writing fleshed out each of the characters well. kudos on the game!

The song for the second level was so very, very good - love me a violin (or similar).  The dialogue changing was interesting and it was nice having to try to figure out the correct order of things. I like the non-violent interpretation of the theme. Well done!

i enjoyed the story and artwork! going with the interpretation of using your words to affect others was great for what you went for. it was interesting seeing how the different leaders would react and speak to the villagers.

something strange that happens is i'll stick to the walls if i jump and move into them, and there was also a moment on the far right wall where that caused me to fall through the floor and into the abyss... so i had to reset.

congrats on the project of course! i enjoyed it a lot!

Hi there! Thank you so much for playing the game!It was fun to write different dialogues based on different characters. I'm glad you liked the interpretation too.

As for the bug, I'm sorry that you had that bug! It was actually recurring bug and I thought it was fixed, but I see now that it isn't fixed yet. Will have to work on that in the near future. But thank you again xD Glad you enjoyed it!
