Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are a cyber weapon, malware specifically, that has found itself on a workstation. Propagate through the network and take control.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
First time using a GDD for a game jam and I discovered it with only a week left. All feedback is really valuable to me. Thank you for your hard work!

I like the interesting design
Is your itch.io set to allow fullscreen?

I haven't been using this area for comments, cause I'm more used to commenting under the itch pages. Should I be commenting here? That last level area was kinda hard/fun.

very cool

Level selection screen was really cool

Nice concept and pretty well done for a first jam!

FInal level was a bit to hard for me there were no clear indicators where the beams would go making it pretty impossible to guess where to stand.

Submitted

Really clever use of concept and take on the theme. The final puzzle was a little frustrating for me as there were no visual indicators for where the red blocks would spawn in and out of existence, but I had fun and really enjoyed your submission.

Satisfying ending, everything worked and made sense from within the game.

Very nice game, has improved a lot from when I played it earlier in the jam, in terms of all the assets and tutorial text, so well done! I love the hacking theme.

Developer

Thanks for playing it again! Y’all’s early feedback really helped me improve the game throughout each part of the design process. Glad you enjoyed it.

The watchdogs hacking between computers and cameras was so cool! I was stuck at the tutorial for a second not realizing I was actually meant to walk through the damage zone to then heal 😅

Developer(+1)

Yes! I love Watch Dogs and it was definitely my main inspiration for the jam.

Almost lost it reading "McAfee" : D

Very fun and interesting approach to the whole theme, the level transition environment is 10/10, very good!

Developer

Thank you so much! So glad you liked the game.

Awesome job. I liked the aesthetic. I really liked the change in perspective of moving from one computer to another, really nice touch!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Good game. The movement is a bit off and I (personally) don't like the perspective. However, the game concept is really nice and fits the theme very good!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I know, I kind of wish the movement was more flexible. I tried to make the player face the cursor but I had trouble getting that to work.

Such a fun game! I spent a lot of time on it. The difficulty spike on final level is quite high so I spent most of the time on it.

Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.

This is a really slick idea! I loved that attack on the camera at the end! Looking forward to seeing more of it!

Developer

Thank you so much! Just finished the release export so the content is all there. Just a matter of adding polish now.

Very interesting premise and a great prototype. Very refreshing to see more 3D content in jams. The level selection mechanic was very cool and overall the game ROCKS!

One suggestion: In the McAfee level there is a barrier that moves vertically. Given the perspective, it is not very easy to see at a glance that it has vertical movement. Something I have done in the past to combat this is to make it a stationary barrier that turns on and off. like a laser barrier (idk if this helps the mental image), this allows you to still have the time gate but respects the camera angle.

Also QOL thing but maybe making the player face the mouse cursor could be a nice touch.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback; that's really valuable! I can definitely adjust that barrier to be different and easier to see its motion with the locked camera perspective.

This was fun! I really liked how you did level transitions. That I was hacking one PC/Internet connected device to the next. Super cool!

GDD is short and sweet, gives a very concise description of the game.
