The mini games seemed cool but the game felt very short overall. I wish it had lasted a bit longer. I really like the visuals and audio in this game though they blend well together! I really love how you can navigate through all menus and play the game with just your keyboard!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is quite short, unfortunately I had to really limit the content (rooms, objects) in order to finish the features (most importantly, the three minigames) and make sure that all the components worked well together. Providing multiple ways to interact (mouse, keyboard) was an important part of this.

This game is so cute! Incredibly weird in a most positive way. Exactly my kind of humor!

Developer

Thank you, that's what I was aiming for, and after playing your game I can see the similarities in tone and mood.

Really liked the game. Followed your progress in the gwj works in progress channel on discord and every time you posted it looked very polished. Really like the hand drawn artstyle and the dialogue. Did manage to "break" the repair minigame by both clicking on the plank and tapping R at the same time, allowing me to always get the max amount of repairs done. Overall very nice game, especially for your first GWJ.

Developer

Haha, I love how people find stuff you don't even think about. Thank you for playing it, glad you enjoyed it!

I liked the different minigames you had for the items, the sfx were great, and the hand drawn artstyle is pretty cool. Game felt a bit short, but mechanics were polished. For a first game jam, this is very solid work!

Developer

Thank you for playing it and providing feedback! Yes, unfortunately I had to cut down on the content to make all the features / minigames fit in, maybe I'll expand it post-jam.

Submitted(+1)

The sound design is so well done in this one!

I liked the freedom the player has to decide the best course of action, the first time I played I just sold everything to see where I would get. Then I tried again playing more calmly and testing the depth of the game.

Special mention for the grandma SFX 😁

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! While the game is quite short, one of my main goals was to make it interesting by providing a choice to players. I'll probably expand on the content after the jam.

Interesting game idea! I like the dialogue audio and the comment that the aunt makes. The UI and different mechanics for the actions that can be performed on the furniture gave a lot of avenues for replayability and approaches to getting a higher score.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing the game on your stream, the detailed feedback and the great suggestions!

Submitted(+1)

It's a very nice play on the word haunted and an interesting game, the voice of the aunt is TOP TIER and the art is very nice, I kind of forgot I was playing to rate the game as it was really fun and well polished for such a time constricted project! Very well done to you it has great potential, was kind of sad when it was done, I wanted more.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, it was fun to record that and the player voice line as well. I have some stuff that I'll have to fix post-jam and after that I will probably expand the content a bit, because I had to cut it down a lot.

Really liked the audio design and the voices sfx in this one. Felt a bit short but all the mechanics felt polished and I really liked the way a timed event was implemented for scrapping items- I found that mechanic very unique.

Developer

Thank you, I definitely had fun recording the silly audio. The project involved a lot of experimentation with concepts, techniques and the engine itself, you whenever I had to cut scope, it came off from content like objects and rooms so I can have the features like the three minigames in place.

Foremostly, I really enjoyed the art. It reminded me of a David Firth animation or something, and I half expected something macabre to happen because of that! The gameplay was very original but a bit lacklustre honestly (for my taste). The game felt very solid and polished overall, I didn’t experience any bugs or anything weird! You made great use of the theme as well as all of the wildcards! Congrats on a really solid first GWJ submission! :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you liked the art. I loved Salad Fingers, good to know about this association! The whole project involved a lot of experimentation with different concepts and techniques, so I agree that there wasn't much content in the end, it all can be finished in a couple of minutes. Learned a lot during the process, though.

Beautiful main menu and artstyle! I like the story.

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

I love the quirky name, and you captured every auntie I've ever known perfectly. At first, I wasn't feeling the artstyle. However, it quickly grew on me along with the fun little mechanics. Good job!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad that the character and the atmosphere was working as intended. Due to the time constraints, all of the art in the game is little more than a quick first-time sketch that became final, but it was appropriate for the mood.

Simple but effective idea off a funny wordplay bit. The audio and art were awesome, especially the Aunt's talking sounds. I like the implication that she is just lying through her teeth about all the furniture and the house. Feel like a lot of us have relatives like that, lol.

I agree with Chipper that it wasn't clear when to leave the house, but I didn't really mind.

Great job :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you, it's nice to hear people liked the art because I consider myself more of a programmer and it's the first time that I tried this.

The game end is probably the lowest hanging improvement area for the game, so I'll definitely update that after the jam.

Submitted(+1)

I like the name its funny lol. The main menu screen animations are cool! The talking sound is so funny lol. Very interesting set of mechanics and the art style adds to the comedic value hehe. I mostly just hit sell cause I don’t like button mashing personally lol. I got a high score of 346! A funny little experience with a lot of charm. Great work!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I'm happy that I managed to hit the intended comedic spot. Once I had the title, everything else just came naturally. I wanted to include different minigames party because I needed the practice, but also to cater to various preferences.

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game! I especially loved the artstyle, sound effects and humor were the best part.

Developer

Thank you, I really appreciate it, this was the first time I tried to do everything myself. To be fair, some of the SFX are just downloaded, but the voices are all me.

Submitted(+1)

Cool little game! I love when the game has a consicive message and tone.
The art, SFX and humor of the game make it a joyful treat!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Simple good game. I like the art style.

Developer

Thank you, this was the first time I tried drawing the art on paper and scanning it, I found it much faster and more comfortable than doing pixel art.

Submitted(+1)

I enjoyed this. The art style is really nice and consistent throughout. The talking sound effects reminded me of animal crossing a lot. Clicking is always a fun mini game. I do wish it was clearer that after you have done everything in the house to leave the house to see that the game ended.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the game, especially the jokes. The end of the game is not clear, this was pointed out by multiple people now, that's the first thing I should fix post-jam.

Submitted(+1)

The humor and art style are 10/10. I sometimes wasn't able to select the reply option when it came up, which wouldn't be a big issue if the dialogue wasn't so good so I felt like I missed out.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, unfortunately the whole Reply feature (including the idea) only came on the last day of the jam, so there wasn't much time to polish it, maybe I'll do that after the jam.

Submitted(+1)

The talking sound effects SENT me. Good job.

Developer

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it, I had much fun recording them.

Submitted(+1)

I pretty like the humor in the game. Well done ^^

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you liked the humor, it can be hard to get it right and you can never be sure how it lands with people.
