How does your game fit the theme?
Before the actual gameplay starts and the robots come at you, and in between waves of robots, the player has a calm period in which they can get a breather from the frantic robot shooting. Also, the theme is advertised on the ingame billboard ;)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Besides the protagonist’s and the robot's model and animations and the music and sfx, i created everything myself, including models, shaders, animations, lightmapping, ui, code and logic.

Very polished and fine game! The dashes are not on the triggers on the other hand but on the bumpers ^^ the death of the character is perhaps a little too fast on the other hand, it leaves no room for error.

Bravo for this great entry in any case!

Developer(+1)

thank you :) yeah i mistakingly wrote that it was the triggers, will fix that in the next version! thanks for playing :)

That was pretty fun! I liked how you get upgrades every now and then, feels very satisfying. The audiovisual side is nice, it's cool that you made most of the props yourself. I would've liked a little bit of knockback effect on the robots when they get shot. Also, the instructions say to use triggers to dash, but it was bumpers at least on my controller.

PS. The billboard was a nice reference to the jam!

Developer(+1)

thank you :) very nice that you noticed the billboard! The game can use a lot of improvements and i’m so happy to get a lot of valuable feedback to work with <3

I liked the graphics and sound design of the game. It's a really nice job. My only criticism would be that we died too quickly and the map was too small. A very good job for a limited time. Congratulations.

Developer

thank you :) i plan on further development of this game once the jam/rating ends, adding larger maps and implementing lot’s of stuff from feedback!

This was a really solid and polished game! Such cool visuals and great gameplay loop!
I really enjoy intense gameplay at last levels! Liked a map. It wasn't boring and with some story in it.

Some feedback:
- I wish game started to be challenging faster. First ~50 enemies are pretty easy to kill and gameplay feels repetative until later.
- I wish power ups will come more frequent. It seems they fall when you kill some amount of enemies. Like milestones. It's not as fun as if they were a little bit more random and were more like "a surprise" not just "you progressed and now you can be stronger".
- More about power ups. First one should fall earlier to let player know what there is some progression up ahead. Until wave 3 it seems what game will not progress gameplay-wise and there just will be more enemies. Once first power-up falls I was interested to check what will be on later levels.
- It was a little bit hard to understand where I can walk through and where I can stuck. In some intense moments was afraid what I can stuck somewhere where I haven't tried to walk.
- It wasn't obvious for me what I'll die from first touch. I thought about it but wasn't sure until first death.
- Allowing to play not only from controllers could be useful, but you already know it :)

Great game, polished execution, very well made! Thank you!

and thank you for playing and great feedback, will take all of this into account for the next version!

Really fun game. The only thing that I can say, and it's a bit nit picking, when in the upper left corner, the trees' collision are too big and prevent me to go trough them, eeven though there's a bit space between them. Other than that, really fun :)

Developer

thank you :) will take a look at it in the next version!

Maybe the issue is on my end, but I can’t seem to play the game. I pressed every key, but it’s stuck on the menu screen. I won’t rate it for now since the problem might be on my side. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks!

Developer(+1)

this game is only playable with a gamepad/controller :)

Oh that is true you told me. My bad!

Developer

if you do not have a controller then maybe you can take a look at this gameplay video (huge thanks to HexNuclid) and rate based on what you see there :) => https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2253652240?t=00h37m00s

Great Jog, I had lot of fun playing this game. Next time I'll go 3D too. Like the mechanics and great soundtrack.

Great Job! Love the graphics and art style. Everything about it is awesome! Could've used maybe an extra gun or two to spice up the gameplay but overall stellar game! :D

Impressive game, felt good to play though getting killed with one touch seems a little extreme. And I was lucky to have a gamepad literally connected to pc but I can imagine a lot of people not being able to play because of it.

Developer

thank you :) yeah i couldn’t have guessed so many people not having a controller laying around, will keep that in mind for the next time

I don't have a controller but my teammate took the lead while sharing screen. And i have to say it was amazing for a game jam project! The music, the character models and the atmosphere. Everything was on point.  If one day it supports mouse and keyboard i will come back to play it myself! ♪ ♥

Developer

thank you for watching and your teammate for playing :) i plan on further development of this game once the jam/rating ends! Will definitely have to think about adding mouse/keyboard controls

Love the music choice! Need more enemies!! More explosions!!! Also I think having no keyboard compatibility has limited a lot of the game's audience, I tried to get my teammates to play but they don't have controllers. Love the game!

Developer(+1)

thank you :) yeah i plan on further development of this game once the jam/rating ends, adding all the stuff you mentioned and much more! And yes, a lot of people have mentioned they do not have a controller laying around, wouldn’t have guessed that upfront :D

This game is exceptional! The attention to detail and creative design create a truly enjoyable experience.

thank you :)

Having made a twin stick shooter myself, your game inspires me a lot, so many things that I planned but could not do, I found here, also the game in its demo already looks good, It would be nice to see this one cook.
Great Work!
