Like the spin theme and change of weapons. The boss is challenging and fun. Good job.
I like the pixel art and classic Zerlda style, its really awesomely made, I find the mechanics quite good too. I rate graphics, control, fun and music on top, all really well made, also, if you have time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
You got a fun playable game with unique spin mechanics, I mostly used the katana because of the speed and cool down to throw, needed a way to skip the bosses i already beat (we did the same thing in out game too), but other than that nice job! Congrats on submission. Feel free to try our game if your like!
pretty fun stuff. The world kinda blended together for me but that could just be because I'm tired. I got some stuttering but that's probably web only. I love a good tutorial!
I love the visual style of the game. The mechanic of falling down a hole to transit between bosses I love, and the death animation as well. The gameplay is spot on, and by the way, I hate the wizard skull minions hahaha. Congratulations and good luck in the Jam.
I'm glad I came across this! It's simple, it's retro, and it's fun. You should be very happy with the results of your efforts, and I hope you keep it up and make more games in the future.
I like the retro style, the first boss was a bit difficult but it was fun.
Thanks for playing :)
I like the controls and definitely would play more if the second boss didn't have so much going on, I like the main menu theme and the funny hole you fall down though lol.
Hello, thanks for playing, happy that you enjoyed the game, i have noticed that the game really needs a difficulty selector so everyone can play it, i will have it in mind for a post-jam update, all the music in the game was made by JHawk Studios, they have a lot cool music assets, i used this one Encounters
While I was playing I honestly felt like the weapons were pretty much all the same in terms of effect despite knowing the different things they do, I wish they had vastly different abilities so that weapon switching can feel super super cool. The idea has a lot of potential for combos and strategic play. I liked the boss fights quite a bit though, they were a fun bullet hell experience, and trying to divide my focus between moving around to not get hit and trying to aim my throw right was really fun!
Hello, thanks a lot for playing, you are absolutely right about the lack of depth in the weapon system, to be honest it was the part of the game i neglected the most during development, i was so focused on other systems that in the end i didn’t get to develop it as much as I wanted definitely one of my biggest regrets, this taught me that it's better not to implement something in a game unless it’s fully polished or complete, as it ends up being more of a negative impact on the overall game, thanks again for playing it makes me really happy that you enjoyed the rest of the game :)
I quite liked the fight. The visual section is very good. As for the audio section, we must give it more love ;)
Congrats!
Thank you for playing! Most of the sounds were created using a sound generator tool, in my next game i will improve the sound design, ty for the feedback :)
This is a solid try for a first game!
I like the bouncing of projectiles.
For me the web version was a bit stuttery and would even freeze for a few milliseconds before a screen shake.
Hello, thank you so much for playing I’m sorry about the stutters in the web version, i also encountered some occasionally during playtesting, but I couldn’t find why they happened, still I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
By how assets look I think I played it few weeks ago but I'm not sure because it is way better than I remember. Well done with all the improvments!
Game looks great and plays well. Bosses are more on the easy side but that's ok.
My game was uploaded around week 2 i think, so there’s a good chance you played it back then, it makes me happy to hear you liked it, About the bosses, most people told me the game was actually too hard, so i made it easier because of that (and apparently, most people still think it’s too hard) guess you’ve got some skill haha, still thanks a lot for playing! :)
Fun game :) I think there could be more contrast between background graphics and important objects like projectiles, spikes, etc since there can be a lot of bullets. But cool entry nonetheless!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for your feedback. I will keep it in mind! :)
Cute retro looking game. I think the switching of weapons doesn't really help you, unless i'm missing something. The default sword seems to be the best one. Bouncing projectiles make the zombie level a bit too much as time goes on
Thank you for playing and for the feedback. I will take it into account :)
i really like it keep going c:
Thanks a lot for playing :)
Screenshake is a little much but I like the dropping humor and bouncing mechanic from the walls.
Happy to hear that you enjoyed it, Sorry for the issue with the screen shake i will probably update the game and add a screen shake option Thanks for playing :)
The theme integration is a bit of a stretch. Gameplay is simple but solid. Simple ranged combat that gets slightly hectic and chaotic. Swapping weapons seems redundant since they're all just weapons with different stats rather than offering different weapon behaviour (maybe the sword throws 3 swords in an arc, the hammer stops after a very short distance etc)
I find myself swapping weapons instantly after every throw to try to animation cancel and spam weapons though, so that was quite interesting.
Hello, First of all, thank you for taking the time to try out my game and write this comment I'm glad that at least you found it interesting, I appreciate your feedback, and I believe that the weapon system could have been a lot deeper I gave each weapon some kind of ability (destroy enemy projectiles on the heavy sword for example), but in the end, I also felt that there was really no need to swap weapons since you can beat the entire game with the sword, I will try to make a post jam update to ThrowKnight to address some of these issues I've been noticing before leaving the game, since this is a game i did mostly to get experience on gamedev.
That said, thank you for playing :)
Great game, especially since this is the first one you have made and I really think you should be proud of your creation! I really enjoyed the bosses here, and throwing the swords at them felt great. Good job!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
That was a fun game! I enjoyed the throwing mechanic a lot, although I definitely shouldn't have skipped the tutorial.
Hahaha, I'm happy you enjoyed it! :)
