I got to round 8, but couldn't find the last few balloons. How many levels are there? The flying was cool and the gun spray felt nice. It was weird that you could come to almost a stand still and become like a midair turret unaffected by gravity, but otherwise cool concept. What are your plans for the game?

Developer

First things first thank you for playing and reviewing. I think round 8 glitches due to spawning logic. It should be fixed next time. The ability to stop is because I plan to add hovering to the game. The player isn't actually going to be flying a biplane in the full game haha.

My hope is to make an action sandbox type of game if I can scope it right.

Oh, what kind of plane then?

Developer(+1)

Most likely more of a mech or power suit

pretty cool. seems to be something off with the way it self aligns back to a neutral position. it will sometimes remain banked and sometimes correct itself to remain leveled and sometimes `correct` itself to remain at a strange bank angle. its weird because you have the logic to proper banking already as pressing QE does the thing you expect it to do automatically. you can try adding the blackout effect during high G manuevers and high roll rate manuevers, instead of having it tied to the EQ input. overall it feels pretty nice with how easy it is to control and the camera work. at low speeds the illusion of flying is broken though, but low speed feel is probably not important.

the echo sound on the bullets are nice, but maybe a bit too much delayed. you should destroy them on impact because spraying a wall seems to reduce performance a bit

Developer

Thank you for playing! I think I know why its autocorrecting and I need to fix it. I like the idea of adding high G effects and I need to add more "speed" effects so you really feel it. I will try and fix the bullets, I noticed the performance drop as well

Very neat start for a flightsim. Controls better than GTA:SA Toy Biplane, and I couldn't ask for more. Obviously needs more content, but you probably know that already.

The physics go crazy if you hit something face-first, and if you go zero acceleration - the plane goes backwards. Also I kinda expected Q and E to make you do a full barrel roll, not just flip. Also for now the usefulness of them is undefined. Maybe they could be changed to not flip, but rather roll, so that the player could have more freedom to dodge bullets?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I plan to fix basically everything you mentioned by next DD.

I think I'm gonna have rolling as well as flipping but we will see

Nice start!

Making camera reset at EQ is a bad desicion IMO

You either need a constant automatic and smooth  selfleveling to horizon or put camera(?) roll on AD

Developer

Someone else told me I should add manual roll as well. I will test it out and see if I can do both. I want to make Q roll left and E roll right in the next update rather than Flip up and Flip down

Cool game. The flying felt pretty polished. Wish it had a controller support. A bit slow on pace, I would've like more speed. Thanks for submitting.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Just to clarify it felt slow with max throttle?

Submitted (2 edits) (+1)

Sorry for being a bit vague. Yes on full throttle. But what I meant is that I would have liked it a bit more action heavy. But I just realized it's a biplane and not a fighter jet lol so my bad man. It's a bit bare bones but I totally understand because it's still an early demo. Maybe it felt cool enough that I kept wanting more. Like it got me a bit on the hook and I wished more back in my brain. It's promising so hope you dev more.

Developer

Thanks for clarifying. My main goal was just making flying feel good before expanding everything. It sounds like I hit the mark (minus speed) so by next demo you should see a big area, much more speed, a better model, actual enemies, etc. Your feedback means a lot and I really appreciate it.

Played a bit https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2290727465?t=0h11m31s

I liked the flying, the shooting was OK, collisions are obviously WIP. Solid foundation

Developer

Thanks for playing! Just I watched the demo clip. I should have made it more apparent that you had a pause menu with the controls and audio. You can manually respawn as a work around if you get stuck like  you did.

nice little airplane.

the slowdown when steering feels very abrupt, like i immediately grind to a halt

going back to full speed feels pretty slow, too

difficulty feels very volatile, depending on the random placement of the balloons a challenge can be piss easy or bullshit hard

once when i destroyed an extra balloon right before the next round started it was counted as a kill for the next round instead

edit: i did not notice i could manually increase throttle. i should have read the controls lol

Developer(+1)

I appreciate all the feedback. I made some bad last second decisions about speed before sumbitting because I was worried I got too good at flying and wanted to make sure people could play. The difficulty was hard for me too based on the randomness. Thanks for playin!
