Working on the MathKeyboardEngine repositories is an attempt to create something useful for the long term, something (small) that might have a (big) positive impact on the lives of many.

Allowing students to learn math via guiding software applications seems a logical choice:

• Math teachers are scarce - probably because there are many other interesting jobs to choose from. Therefore, the time that a student has with proper guidance might be very limited.
• Learning math without the right (amount of) guidance is hard for most students.
• Good software might be able to provide just the right guidance to most students.

There are many things that developers should consider when building such applications:

• Teaching apps should be able to provide feedback.
• Teaching apps should be able to automatically select a set of problems that are just right for the students' knowledge gaps and problem solving level.
• Teaching apps should be very easy to use.
• etcetera.

MathKeyboardEngine is just one puzzle piece in that enormous puzzle.
