Starting one browser per call?

I want so make lots of screenshots (>1000) and i found out that starting the browser (e.g.) is really expensive.

As far as i understood for every snapshot a fest browser instance will be instantiated, is that correct?

And if yes is there a way of reusing an once started browser instance?

Or is it possible to connect to another instance which is running out site of browsershot/Puppeteer
