Abstract

Out-of-band response of an antenna is an important factor that determines the susceptibility of a communication system to its surrounding environment. The aim of this paper was to study the effect of different plane ground on the Input impedance, S-parameter, and radiations pattern of the monopole antenna. Several simulations have been performed, the monopole antenna with wavelength λ/4 was placed on top of the curved and rectangular ground plane surface and then different antenna parameters were obtained in terms of directivity, electric field and gain. Finding the right place of put the antennas in specific location still the big problem. By understanding the out-of-band performances and predictions system designers can better handle and avoid problems caused by electromagnetic compatibility and susceptibility issues. Finally the results were analyzed and concluded that curved ground surface with specific degree can be outperformed the flat ground surface in normal condition at different aspects.
