I download java and extract all the files,.I also run the windows batch file, but nothing happened after I run the file. I retried many times but nothing happened.
ive just tested the download, it seems to be working for me. when you run the 'Minecraft Alpha 1.2.7.bat' press n to install java again, im sure this would work, but if it doesn't it could be a problem with your computer.

When you open the batch file and it says, "Do you have Java installed?" press y to start the game or press n to install Java.
and if that doesn't work try uninstalling every Java you've got by going into the control panel and pressing uninstall programs:

Hi there, when i open the minecraft jar it only shows a white screen even if i waited. any help? does it require a specific version of java?
open the Minecraft Alpha 1.2.7.bat file. im very sorry if you are a linux or mac user, cause the game has to run on windows.

hi, in cmd it says silent mode and game got no sounds, how to fix it?
there is no way to fix the sound because inside the .jar they disabled sound.
the reason why they disabled sounds is so they can add scary music or sounds that randomly start still without the normal sound files

@HeroNoBrain i have a fix for you, simply uninstall all of the java apps you have then install it again
