CANBERRA -- Australia plans to spend at least $22.7 billion Australian dollars ($15 billion) over the next decade to make the country an "indispensable" part of the global economy as it transitions to net zero, Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced Tuesday.

Delivering the budget to parliament, Chalmers said spending over the next years is targeted broadly at two themes: tackling cost-of-living pressures and promoting an industrial policy agenda dubbed "A Future Made in Australia."
