Future maintenance

Hi!

It seems like this project isn't receiving much attention, so I created a fork to make some updates and improvements. Are you planning on maintaining this project anymore? Are you seeking new maintainers?

The package gets about ~500k downloads / week from PyPI so I think it's valuable that it's kept up-to-date.

It looks like this project is no longer being actively maintained? I've been working on a successor library with a focus on speed: https://github.com/eliotwrobson/mystace

If there is any community interest, I can devote some more time to ironing out bugs.

Just as a note, there's not much activity on my fork because there's not much to do after I added the functionality I needed and fixed spec-compliance — but I'll try to address issues if they're reported.
