I've decided to bring back a character I made ages ago. This is a Cwn Annwn dubbed the The Murmur by storytellers, woodsmen and crone alike. It is an ageless entity of the Wild Hunt, who found a way to pass through the veil that kept the worlds separate. Initially, this was only achieved during certain times of the year and could only be initiated by King Arawn or another powerful being of the Pantheon. However, once the Murmur Found what would come to be known as The Slip it could pass between worlds whenever it pleased.
Up until it began using The Slip, The Murmur was as any other hound of the Wild Hunt. Relentless in its pursuit of fresh game and merciless when setting upon its quarry, it seemed to possess no other purpose, but to hunt, kill and mate. Once it began to turn up alone, however, it began to show a quality even more horrifying than the bestial vigor intrinsic to every Cwn Annwn. The Hound began to learn, to plan, to trap, to lure. It showed intelligence not seen before and through a reputation written in blood and trauma, gained its moniker from the denizens of the places it terrorized. Clerics, druids, priests, oracles...all manner of the Bestowed were called upon to find a way to kill The Murmur, but when it became apparent that the beast would not be killed they sought to seal him away. Over the course of many years, one by one the worlds sealed off the tears that linked them to Annwn - many times at the cost of the Bestowed's power. However, as the doors to these worlds closed - others cracked open, only needing to be pushed asway by someone or something curious and driven enough to find out what lay behind them. Among these worlds: Ours.
